Will ELD CEL occur when using no alternator?

Will ELD CEL occur when using no alternator?
So I just threw a motor into my drag car to "mock up" the wiring and everything else, and currently do not have an alternator, only CEL is for ELD, is this due to the alternator? Also, when I checked disable ELD on my hondata s300, the cel kept coming up in DTC's window in hondata. Is that normal?

Come on, I'm sure you could have figured this out on your own. Start the car with no alternator charge, and you get a CEL for Electrical Load Detector.....

the eld isn't in the alternator, its in the fuse box, this I know. There is still electricity coming from the battery of course. No need to be a dick, ALSO, i'm pretty sure i've run another crx before with no alternator and never got a check engine light.
