Default Will a dented downpipe really affect performance?

I would like to know if a dented downpipe, like the one in the pic below will really affect performance. The header is a Vibrant 4-2-1 on a H22A with mild mods in an EG Civic and the dented downpipe is pictured below ...

The thing is, I bought this to replace my stock H22A header, so do you think I will LOSE any performance because of the dent pictured above?

Have you got any other pictures? Cant really see any dents, just looks more like scratches. Judging by the picture it will not loose all that much performance, it should improve on your stock header though not as much as an unbent one would.

No I don't have any more pics but I guess I will find out the real deal with it once it arrives at my door and I try it out... I am glad I did not have to pay $600+ for it though - thats what it sells for at their website, so $100 and even if I had to pay to get it fixed (cut the dent out and weld a new piece) it still would be a great deal.

I will let you guys know the outcome when I receive it and try it

Well I still have to stock one so I guess we will have to compare and see ... I do not think it could get any worse than the stock one... besides I might go ahead and have it "fixed" - if I still don't feel any difference or I am unsure, I will probably take both the of them to a dyno and test both of them to see.

I have heard good things about the Vibrant header although it is not very common.

my hotshots were bashed in a lot worse and i got them fixed. used an old header. cut rectangular sections out that i needed. then cut out the damaged sections on my hotshot header. then welded the new peices over the holes. you could always do that.

I finally got the header and it looks worse than the pic the guy had. Here are some pics I took MYSELF.

Also he did not mention that the mounting bracket was broken as well. Local muffler shop said I am lookin at least $100 just to fix the dents in it and then I still need the pipe extended because it is too short and the bracket fixed. Maybe I should file a claim with Paypal ...

That will definitely hurt exhaust flow. Probably not enough to notice in normal running around, but will when accelerating hard.

LOL that piece of crap does not even fit my car - its for a 97 up H22 not 92-96 H22A like the idiot told me. I CLEARLY asked him that and he said it would fit my car! I think its time to file a claim, not even worth tryin to sell this crap to anyone - I would feel bad.

Update : I filed a claim with Paypal - lets see what this guy comes up with for an excuse...

Update - I just bought some Ebay header and for all you who have doubt in those $80 header's, I must say they are better than the stock H22A header! H22CRX was right about them and "Ebay" header he directed me to buy works great!

As for the guy I bought the Vibrant header from - he kept braggin about how he was friends with The Whipfactory in Chicago, etc. and they said it would fit my car and I did not know what I was doing. Also he started insulting me and sayin I was rice compared to his 500Hp civic (he claims) just because I filed a claim with Paypal and Paypal approved my claim provided I send em back to him (did that already). Guy basically called me stupid but I know I am not - so I could care less but I did not go out without a fight lol.

Shows how smart he is cos he had his gf answer my questions when I called about the header lol. Basically, I think he is mad I am gettin my money back and he could not rip me off.
