Default will this benefit anything

my question is will your car benefit anything by just having an aftermarket camshaft just for the intake side and stock for the exhaust side?

A slightly bigger intake cam should be OK, but without complimenting it with a bigger exhaust cam the exhaust scavenging effect will be reduced. I would rather upgrade the exhaust side first if not both at the same time. You would probably see a greater power gain that way.
