I thought it was more like 5 hp. I always thought 1.0cr was about 10 hp.

I heard it's about 8% increase every one point increase. So for my car going from 9:1 to 10:1 will give me 8% more hp.
yea see im interested in this too. is there a real set in stone anwser to this question cause ive heard all kinds of differnt answers. i just raised my compression in my d16 from 9.2 to about 9.6. car feels a little stronger but i cant relate it directly to compression increase cause i had alot of other work done at the same time..

The usual rule of thumb when dealing with Honda motors is: per point of compression increased, horsepower increases by about 10. A 5 horsepower increase sounds correct. If it's a vtec motor maybe 6 or 6.5 horses, if it's not then maybe only 4. It all depends on the motor, the mods done to it, and the condition it's in. If you raise the compression be sure to use premium and maybe octane boost to insure against knocking and detonation.
