wierd rev pattern occuring
doesnt matter if the car is hot or cold, but SOMETIMES it devlopes this wierd throttle crap when driving at a constant rpm. ill just be driving and the rpm will dip from 3500-3000 and back up, and sometimes over the rpm im going, and it makes a very light/deep pop sound in the exhaust if it pulls down hard enough. it will do this for about 5 seconds, stop, then do it, then sometimes it doesnt do it at all, i really dont get it, its just been doing this recently, and becomes more common day to day, and sometimes when its acting up like this, if i downshift and get on it, it feels like it is missing so i let off. fuel ignition are as follows:
ignition
cap converter
msd wires
msd blaster ss coil
fuel
aeromotive fpr
walbro 255 hi flow
550cc RCs
venom rail
management
hondata 2b running open loop

damn dont know how your mods come into play with the problem but minus the mods those are symptoms of a bad ignitor. my car was just doing the same thing till yesterday then i switched it out..........problem solved. dont take my word on this because you do have a considerable amount of mods.......someone may be able to add to this.......
according to your dyno charts, looks like ur fuel was all over the place on the charts, did u ever fix that with your hondata and get a smooth fuel map layout?
doesn't sound like your ignitor is having problems, other wise you wouldn't have a running engine, it either is working, or goes, or REALLY screwin up, and that's an expensive lil booger.
a friend of mine had the MSD Compact and found out that he had a faulty coil, and caused the ICM (ignitor) to go bad, and caused all sorts of probs
my advise is -- unplug the MSD box you have, and go back to stock internals on the distributor and stock H22 ignition system (stock cap, coil, etc.), and see if it's the MSD system.
brandon -- who wonders where H22 is and has had no contact or word to him

its not anything to do with the dyno, bc its been the same and it just had started doing this BS, the only MSD part this is hooked up is the coil
Ok, try going back to your stock Ignition system and see if it's the MSD coil. Run off your stock distributor coil and see if that solves the problem at all. If you are hearing pops out of your exhaust at a down shift, there is no 'smooth' burning going on inside the combustion chambers. Your MSD blaster coil might not be producing smooth sparks to the plugs, or what not......then again, If your msd coil is fine, it has to be something with fuel delivery.
Its your ignitor.. I may be going bad or just loose.. The first thing to do is to check the wiring on the ignitor and make sure that they are secured properly.. If you do this and the problem still remains then you will have to change it out.. If you leave it like that unchanged then after a while your car will just start shutting of on you without warning and/or your tach will go crazy.. Also other symptons will be that you will get a miss on high revs and the car will feel sluggish..
i was having problems with the damned injectors seating too.... the thing is, it gets aggrivated when the car is warm too..... guess ill check out the ignitior and let u all know
