Wierd noise!
When i brake...there is this noise coming from the left caliper and it makes a grinding noise but only in 1 second intervals...likeit hits a certain spot on the rotor and u hear it...a shop told me it is the wheel bearings but i really dont believe it is....do u guys know what it might be?
You check your wheel bearings by jack that side off of the ground.
Place your hands on 12 and 6 and attempt to wiggle the wheel. If it moves, inspect your ball joints on the control arms. If they are good. It's your bearings.

bad wheel bearings make a constant oscillating noise while at speed (40-75), at least in my experience. with an intermittent noise only under braking, i'd say your rotors are warped. mine were warped in the rear and they make a god-awful intermittent scraping noise just like what you describe. hope that helps.
