Default Why is only one single brake pad wearing?

I inspected my rear brake pads today after hearing a grinding noise during braking. The outer pad had a large amount of pad left, but the inside was completely gone. What is the cause of this? Should I replace my caliper too?

The piston in your caliper is stuck
and/or
the sliders on your caliper are not moving freely.
