setup:
.44mm effective gasket thickness
B18C head and block
Endyn .5 over ex valves
Honda Type R in valves
+3 intake, +2 ex cams
no thermostat (mine was stuck shut, removed it)
18BTDC at 500rpm +/- 50rpm
knocks on rev between 1K and 1.5K, once it gets hot
it goes away. while cool, it knocks. Could this be the
sign of a weakened rod bearing wanting to get loose?
I just changed over to syn lube at 40K. I cleaned
everything well, ATF in upper, drain, fill with 10-30,
drive, bring back idle with ams engine flush, drain,
fill with 10-30 drive for 50 miles, drain, change filer
to ams sdf20, fill with ser 2000 0-30w TCO.
thanks for the time to consider this...
yeah man your going to have to tell us more but here are 2 things
could be rod bearing or piston slap. but explain how hard the noise is.
