Default Who knows how to use an ohms tester?

I have an ohms tester but do not know how to use, I need to test my injector harness to find out if I am getting even power out of them. My ecu is throwing a 16 an injector problem and my check engine light is on. Please help I believe on the ohms tester it has dcm acm how do I swith it to test 12 volts?

well if a injector is bad i dont think a ohm meter is gonna help much... anyway take the 2 probes and push them into the 2 wires coming from whatever injector u need to test, if your car is a 88-91 it should read pritty low, like 2-5ohms and if it's 92-04 then it should be higher, around 15ohm if i remember correctally

Do you want to check the injectors to see if they have the right resistance, or do you want to check the harness to see if power is getting to the injectors? If you want to check the injectors, set the meter on its lowest ohm setting and put the two probes on the two pins on the injector. If you want to check your harness for power, DO NOT use the ohm setting or you will probably toast your meter and maybe your ecu too. I'm not exactly sure how to check the harness with your meter (is it digital or analog?) but if the car is running then find a way to connect your probes to the two wires going to the clips using a low DCVolts setting that is at least 12V. If that doesn't work or you have some questions, email me and I'll see what I can do.

Also, I think there is some way to use 12V leds plugged into the harness clips to show when the injectors are firing. (hey, that would look blingin! I should sell every stunna on this board a kit that would do that! lol) First, unplug all four harness clips from the injectors. Second, push the led legs into the two sockets in each clip. Radio Shack should be able to hook you up with some 12V leds, preferably something bright enough to see and with legs that you could push into the clips. Third, have someone crank the engine in neutral and enjoy the light show.
