Default Where to get flywheel lightened?

I have a stock ITR flywheel that I want to lighten to about 12.5lbs. (I think it's 14# now and needs resurfacing anyway)

I would ship anywhere in the US rather than hand it over to the local boys with no experience points.

Can anyone recommend a place that knows what they are doing with these flywheels?

Thanks.

Everyone talks about having it done. Where did you go? Would you go again??

Your local machine shop should be able to do it in house, or send it out to another shop to have it lathed with your specification. Note, stock flywheels shouldn't be lightened to anything less than 12lbs. Going beyond that threshold will risk the integrity of the flywheel.

That's the problem: I don't have a spec. I would like to find a shop with at least some experience. I think sending it to just ANY shop is asking for bigger trouble. Some will argue that lightening a stock fly is asking for trouble to begin with, so why make it worse by letting someone learn on my stuff.

I'm only looking to take a couple of pounds off. 12-1/2 to 13 or so. Nothing drastic like tring to get it down to 8.

get the ACT street lightened flywheel.... it weighs the same as the amount you want it to weigh... 12 lbs.... you always hear that if lighten a stock fly... if might warp, crack....... so if i was you get a lightened one.. cost almost the same amount to lighten your ITR... and it is still brand spankin new when you put it on...
