When to Floor it? WOT vtec
Is there any general rule of thumb as when to gun it? Say youre in 1st gear and vtec engages at 4,000 rpms, should you gradually step on the throttle then floor it at 4k or floor it right away say about 2,500? Or should we only floor at vtec range?
Vtec wont engage if you dont step that enough on the gas pedal so my guess is only floor it at vtec range?

actually i already tried doing it, but i just want to hear others opinions about it. thats why im asking if theres any general rule of thumb.
so floor it right away even before hitting vtec? like 2k rpm? im not talking about launching or taking off, like in drag, im talking about like if you have to overtake on someone.

you must be the guy who's always 4 cars in front of me at the green light,do I step on the gas? or carefully press it,step on it...................whoops the light turned yellow, better wait
I personally dont have experience with D-Series motors, but I think the concept still applies to all engines.
You generally want to be in your powerband when you WOT it.
1st gear is an exception to that rule because of its really short and fast revving gearing. On my b18b1 you can WOT it at around 2500rpms.
Either ease on the throttle until WOT or downshift revmatch and pull away.

I WOT my Honda at 1000 rpm and it goes brrrm brrrm brrrm brrrm brrrm at 4200.
Then I pop the clutch and keep it WOT till it goes brrrm brrrm brrrm brrrm at 7200.
215,xxx miles, and my car is silver.

there's no RULE when to gas it
Its just really a matter of if you care about abusing your car or not...

It gives that extra pull when that guy is a car ahead or whatever situation it may be but it's a big help off the line roll whatever it is you do

Holy **** this thread is full of bad info and really lame descriptions. I LOL'ed many times.
Just dont bog the motor, thats it.
You'll know when its bogging when its not putting out any power and you're not going anywhere or accelerating.
