I have a 97 civic ex. i thought vtec was suppose to kick in at about 4800 rpms. but when it kicks in it seems to be 5600 rpms everytime. anyone know why this would be happening. it is a stock ecu from all i know. whoever had the car before i did had done some funky sh*t to it. so i dont know.

Nope. it does turn on in the 4800's but the reason you feel a kick in the 5600 range is because the fuel mapping turns up the mixture. at least thats what i was told. i swapped that POS first thing
