When do lost motion assemblies wear out?

When do lost motion assemblies wear out?
I bought a used head and I'm wondering if I should replace the lost motion assemblies on it. Do they wear out? How many miles?

after the 100K plus mark... sometime by friend's SiR2 from Jap
he got for 900 used at about 185K and he rebuilt, left the LMassys
in and they make noise.
he could benefit from ITR/CTRs... he wants bigger cams
