Completely different question....I'm ready to order rims and I know a lot of you are biased about rim styles. I was thinking about getting Rota Subzeros, but I like the style of Motegi MR3's better. My question is this...17's are 24 pounds, will I be very upset in poor acceleration if I get them? Will they be close to stock weight? Thanks.

Well...it depends on what stock wheels you have on now. 24 lbs is definetely not gonna help your acceleration. I have 14.5 lb 16" wheels on my crx (w/ b16) and I noticed a slight increase in acceleration(probably more to do with a stickier tire than anything else.) Its not only the total weight you have to take into consideration, but also the diameter. If you have a 20 lb 14" wheel compared to a 20 lb 17" wheel, the 17" will be slower due to the weight being further from the center. Making it more difficult for the engine/transmission to turn.

So, when you not only go up in the weight of the wheel, but also up in the diameter, you are getting slowed down by two factors.

I know that my 14" stock alloys weighed around 17 lbs or so w/o rubber. So although I went down in weight, since I went up in the diamter, it didn't really help acceleration.
