Default wheel / tire question

Ok guys,

the wheels i want are only made in a 7.5" width....is this TOO wide to fit a 205 tire on here? or do i HAVE to go with a 215?

secondly, they are only available in a 40 offset.....ive been told that this will fit fine on my 2000 civic, but others have told me that it wont.

so with a 17x7.5" rim with +40 offset and a 215 tire fit? please help....

Default Re: wheel / tire question (NYb16)

I would not go any bigger than a 7" wide configuration. Especially at 40mm offset. Granted my car is a del Sol and not a 99-00 Si, but +40 is the most I can fit without modifying the fenders, and even now on hard corners it rubs slightly. I've had a 7.5" wide combo on my car before and it rubbed and would scrap the inside lining and metal when turning wheels.

How do you have it lowered? I just put mine low enough to get rid of the wheel gap, but at my +40 offset I could not make the wheels tuck without fender modifications.

Hope this helps some..

By the way, which wheels are you looking at?
