whats the difference in an inline and an offset FPR?

whats the difference in an inline and an offset FPR?
i was looking at the AEM web site to see if the AEM FPR from a 94-97 Accord will fit a 98 Accord and the 94-97 says it is inline while the 98-02 is offset. whats the difference? i am guessing they wont be interchangable?
