I blown my headgasket, some prestone/water went in the piston pictured below... now there is some stuff on the sides of the sleeve, doesnt quite look like rust but might be.

What is a safe way to clean that out? I just tried with a towel + wd40 so far.... Im afraid to bust the sleeves.

feel it with ur finger and if there are little groves in there just get it re-honed and it will be good to go

 

laquer thinner, works really well and also some acetone , after lube it up with some wd40 so it doesnt rust
