What would cause an engine to buck wildly?
Re: 1999 Jetta, base model, 4 speed auto, 45000 mi
My friend went to one of those Jiffy Lube places to get an oil change. They suckered her into getting the fuel injection cleaning for 50 bucks. Anyway, when she got her car back, they told her that the car is going to act a little funny for a little while and that it was normal. So later she fires it up and the car is bucking, shaking like crazy, and it stalls. It took about 20 minutes to get the car going. After she started driving, the car would lose power, buck some more, and despite flooring the gas pedal it wouldn't accelerate, it would sputter and then stall again. Eventually the car warmed up but it still missed and sputtered occassionally. She took it back to the place and raised hell. They said that they would take it to the VW dealer because they didn't know what was wrong with it. I'm posting this because I'm curious as to how the hell they could screw up her car.
Any thoughts fellas?

Sounds like the injector are clogged at 50 mph it not getting enough fuel cause it to buck. Sometimes the injector treatments add to the problem it frees up dirt and rust it has and then it has to pass thought injector to get out, and if the piece of dirt is too large or just too much lose dirt it will clog the injector opening. Thus causing you’re bucking problem…….Hope that helps
