Ok, its VTEC and it stands for Variable vavle Timing Elctronic Control. If you've ever seen a regular cam you know there there is a lob for each valve. VTEC cams have one lobe for each valve then a third lob that is bigger. When then engine is at low rpms, the primary lobs are working the valves. When your engine reaches VTEC range, there is a hydrolic pin that locks the third rocker arm into the rocker arm for the primaries. Once that has happend, your engine is now running off the third lob of the cam. This is VTEC.
i-VTEC is what the new generation of Honda engines have. The third lob is still there, however the "i" stands for "intelegence." The new engines can electronically control the intake cams timing via an adjustable cam gear.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isnt it Variable Valve Timing and Electronic Lift Control? They only used VTEC because it sounds better than VVTELC.
Yes, but if I had told that to someone who didn't even know how to spell VTEC, I would have gotten "Wouldn't that be VVTELC?" as a reply. :D
