What spark plugs for high compression b20vtec???
Well, time to get a new set of plugs for my car. Im running a b20vtec with 12.1 to 1 compression. Im currently running bosch platinums (model number F6DP). I dont know what car these plugs were designed for, I was just given a model number and was told these were best for my application.
I would like to ask anyone running a b20vtec out there, what brand and model number spark plugs are you running? Please state your compression ratio too.
THanks,
ERIK

Thanks for your help. Now, What is your compression ratio? Also, what would be the pro's and cons of going with the NGK BKR6E-11? Thanks again!!

i agree,he would want the coldest plug for the compression he's runnin.those bosch plugs(f6dp) are pretty cold plugs.I would just stick with those.Im runnin the same in my h22a with type s pistons and 20 thou milled head

NGK BKR7E-11
or for something a little hotter NGK BKR6E-11

I hade detonation with the 6's and my compression is not as high as yours.

I'm running 12:1 and the bkr7en-11's have worked the best for me. the 6's would break down after a few weeks of driving about 1000 miles also i recomend bringing the gap down to .035.
hotter is a relative term...the 6's are hotter relative to the 7's, but they are still cold plugs in this honda world we live in...bkr6e-11 would be my choice if you live on the east coast, 7's if you live on the west coast...
I ran 12.5:1 and now 13:1 with the bkr6e-11 on 94 pump gas and have no problems with unreasonable week-lasting wear (well, relatively speaking). I gap them @ 34

Okay, well, sounds like the general consensus for hicompression b20vtecs out there is the NGK BKR7E-11 plugs. Thats what im going to go with next. Thanks for your replies everyone. Now, does anyone know how these compare as far as temperature wise to the bosch plat. f6dp's that im running now?
Also, the next problem at hand is what should i gap them at. I had my bosch f6dp's gapped at .032 What do you guys reccommend for me? Ive got a stock ignition and 310cc injectors.
gsr98vtec are you running an aftermarket ignition, or stock ignition??
Thanks again guys!!
