the thicker the better, also pay attention to the switch you use, had one in my car that didnt handle enough amps and it burned along with the wires

I bought a 16A switch and 18Gauge wire. Will that be fine?

I read that the fuel pump is normally only at 7A.

To be safe, I'd run a relay. It isn't much more complicated than running a wire directly off of the pump.

ok, after further review I took my wires and switch back and got a 12 gauge wire and 25amp/12V switch. Would that be good?

I know that I will be soldering the wires together...too many ppl talkina bout car not running tor starting from their simple splicing with electrical tape.

actually a funny story, we were on our way to a H-T meet on Saturday

and my friends turbo integra just shuts off, won't drive. We had to leave it

turns out the connection on the kill switch was bad... had to take all the interior out again to fix it
