replaced the axle on my 92 eg hatch and i was having probs popping the ball joint and i mushroomed the end of the balljoint bolt a little bit and i wanna but a die to re-thread it but what size to i use? is it 12mm? what pitch? 1.75? I think honda uses alot of 1.25 but i think this is different if anyhone knows lemme know.

 

I'm pretty sure it's M10x1.25, but not 100% sure.

 

cool, that sounds more like a size that honda would use but when i was looking at the dies in sears it just looked too small, so i decided i would wait and see if anyone knows.

Honda usually uses 1.25 i think. if its 10 mm then im golden cuz they got one of those at sears i know. Can anyone else chime in?

12x1.25 It's a size that doesn't come in most tap and die sets.

 

yes i noticed because i went to sears and the only 12mm die they had was 1.75 so i was kinda hoping it was the right size, but i know that honda uses 1.25 but they only had that in a 10 x 1.25. I dont know where to find 12 x 1.25. ****

I got mine from Matco years ago.

 

thank you, I was under the impression that this would have been easier to find because its the same size as the lug nuts. (atleast it looks to be)
