What size drive for hand held ratchets?
Tool guys!
I am starting to purchase some hand tools and am wondering what would be the practical size drive to get. I race my car (circuit) but don't do much of the wrenching myself but would like to. I will never use them on a fulltime daily basis but I appreciate well made things and always look at things longterm. I will probably get Craftsman for all the simple reasons but I am open to suggestions.

i got a craftsman 251 piece set and a couple torque wrenches and i dont have a job i cant do. came with 1/4 3/8 and 1/2 wrenches along with every size socket for each. i love em and they werent badly priced either
Just grab a 'complete' set like delslow mentioned, they usually come with enough pieces in all the various sizes to do most (if not all) the jobs you'll need to do, if you can try to find metric only set, that way you can have the same amount of pieces as the metric+sae sets, but without all the sae stuff you'll never use anyways.
yah man.. a complete set works miracles.... most of the time you wil need the 3/8" size. the 1/4" comes in hand for interior and minor engine work. you dont really need the 1/2" unless you doing big time nuts and bolts.
