Use current tranny (Y21), and buy a Quaife LSD from the GB

Costs: Parts (810) Labor to Install Quaife + removal/reinstall of tranny (450)

Total ~1260

Option 2

Costs: Parts (1800) Labor, removal/reinstall of tranny (200?), sell the Y21 Tranny (25000 Miles) (700 +/-)

Total ~1300

Future Plans: ~9 psi on DRAG 3 or 4 kit, ~260 whp expected, Built bottom end, but stock sleeves
Use of Car: Daily Driver, No from the stop dragracing, just spirited driving

Option 3

Purchase Quaife LSD and shop around for prices to install.

You will be able to find someone who will do it cheaper or take the lowest price and go to another shop and get a quote from them on paper. Once you get that quote on paper, go back to the other one.....bounce until you feel you have reached a decent price.

 

I live in Wyoming, my options are limited for import tranny work

I am leaning towards option 2. Why?

1. The transmission is BRAND NEW
2. It already has an LSD inside, but I dont know if the Honda LSD's are as good
as Quaife LSD's
3. 4.785 Final Drive is included in price and already installed

 

 

honda lsd's are NOT as good as quaiffes.
and if you can remove and reinstall the transmission it will save you money (its not hard)

 

I take it the Honda Factory LSD's arent really a good idea if going FI? I know the Quaife LSD's can handle it...
