Default What rods do I use???

I'm building a b16a with a gsr head, os ctr pistons, stock crank. I'm in the very beginning stages of my build and am curious as to which rods I should use. Preferably the most economical ( cheapest ). Thanks

B16 rods depending on your use.Eagle would be the next logical choice.

I am looking at the Eagle H beam forged rods. Do I just get the for a regular B16A?

if you were to install eagle rods onto ctr pistons you would have to get the piston machined to take a full floating wrist pin ( they would have to cut indentations into the piston to take a c clip to retain the pin in the bore of the rod) the ctr takes a fixed pin in original form.

if you install the b16b pistons on to a b16a rod you need to mill 1 millimeter off of both sides of the small end of the rod.

the milling of the rod is not unresonable lots of people. you won't have any problems doing this if you ask a machine shop. but yes itr pistons just press right on.

I'm looking for around 170-200 whp. It will be daily driven in my EF. Raced on weekend at various road race events.

No, it's not really an EG6. I just like to pretend.

Dude just do bolt ons with a vafc or hondata- I made 165whp 111 ft.trq with a vafc then with a hondata made 170/ 116 soo it is possible to reach your goal with out internals- But it would be smart to do Ctr's and a semi built head... Def hit 190-200whp- Have you seen the OmniMan Video of the 92 Oct b16a with a built head?

No, I haven't. Is there a link for it. I was playing with a compression calculator, and noticed that p30 (jdm b16a) pistons give a good bit of compression, so I think I am gonna go with those, and some forged rods. And just do a built head ( gsr ), Maybe with some Toda B's and Omni Power Valvetrain, Port the head and match it to the intake and exhaust manifolds. Anyone have any suggestions on any of this. I have a bit of money to spend but I don't want to over do myself.

If your going with the forged aftermarket rod then go with a forged piston (JE,Wisco,CP,Arias.etc...).Otherwise you will have the already mentioned pin fit problem.
