Default What is the purpose or need for a MC brace?

I've seen these made my feel's and I think mugen?? What do they do what is the need for them what do they help do? If you couldn't tell I haven't a clue how they could help. Is this more a show part? I would love to hear others thoughts or details of why I would need it.

Thanks

It reduces or eliminates the firewall from flexing when you step on the brake pedal. Which gives the driver a more accurate pedal feel.

If you're not racing your car on the circuit, then you can definately do without this part.

I do lapping days and what But I think it still wouldn't matter unless I had race shoes on etc. I can't believe they cost so much. Do most custom fab this? Anyone have one?

race shoes? Is that a slang for "race tyres"?

Anyways, it does make a bit of difference. But yes they cost alot! For the Japanese brand anyways.

You might want to look into making one home-depot spec (it's not to hard), i've seen a couple of road racers do it. Or get the LHT master cylinder brace (less than $100), granted they look cheesy but hey function over fashion right?

Then how comes so many ppl. say they notice so much difference....like "when they back out of their garage and already notice the difference"....

I'm not arguing...i'm also on the non-believing side...i guess i want to better understand how it works before shelling out 50 bucks for that piece of metal

Yeah...you do that.

I do admit feeling it's effects just during "driveway" driving is completely ridiculous, nonetheless the contraption works. To what extent? That's more subjective than anything else.

I guess down the road I might try it. Hopefully I can find someone at the next track day event that has one get a first hand feel of it.

And I do agree function over fashion.
