used search, didnt quite find what i was looking for.

1. Can the v-tec function be programed from a stand alone managment system? I mean its just programing, does it matter where it comes from?

2. What mechanicaly makes a vtec head, vtec, what parts are there that start increasing lift etc etc?

3. Can a similar variable valve timing function be installed on any car given the right parts? ie, not having a whole head, but the little mechanical parts that make it work.

so to sum it up, i know what vtec is, i want to know ***exactly*** how it works.
