What is keeping this car from starting?
A friend brought his '90 civic si w/ a gsr engine to me so i could port his head, port match his intake manifold, install a complete REV valvetrain(including valves) and install skunk2 stage 2 cams. After the port job was done and valvetrain installed,i cleaned the head in a parts washer, and put a little bit of that fluid in the ports to make sure there was no leaks.I cleaned the head surface and block surface of any leftover gasket material etc...than put the head back on the block with a new headgasket. The timing is perfect.Ive done this work many times before and have had no problem. It cranks but just doesnt sound like it firing.I checked the spark and its getting a pretty strong spark.Im not 100% sure if the injectors are firing, but i know theyre getting fuel,i took off the fuel feed line and turned the accesories on and fuel sprayed everywhere.Car was running perfect before.Any ideas what could be wrong?
I figured it out..im a dumb ***...i didnt adjust the valve clearance for the cams.I did a compression test and it was zero, than decided to check valve clearance and couldnt even get the feeler in between even with the smallest feeler.
