so I was driving my car, a '95 teg gsr and it did something weird. When I would apply full throttle it reved up fine up until about 6500 or 7000 RPM and then just stop reving. I was in third, accelerated through second. It did this once and I let off the gas right away, then tried reving it out again, this time going from third up to fourth and in fourth at about 6500 it did it again. What the hell? I tried a third time, rolling into it in third upshifting to fourth taking time to make a very delibrate shift and it reved out fine. Any ideas about what may have caused this? I'm pretty sure my pilot bearing is going out but I don't know if this would have any effect on how the engine revs. It seems to me to be more of a fuel issue possibly.

I was driving it today and tried reving it out in first and when v-tec should have engaged the engine bogged majorly, so i cut the throttle really quick. It then made a light knocking sound for a second after. Any ideas? I should mention that I have put new bosch quad platinums in the car (i didn't gap as I assume these are pregapped).Maybe my fuel filter is plugged up and needs to be replaced?

 

Fuel filter would be a good place to start.
