i have a swapped accord, and my h22 has always idled at about 2k rpms while in motion- once i stop, the idle drops to a normal speed. when i tried a p72 for ***** and giggles, my high idle went away. same thing happened with a p28. what does the p13 sensor that the other two dont?

(ps, i left the p72 in; i sort of liked it. See any problems with that? maybe running lean because the ecu is designed for smaller injectors? TIA. . .. )

I dont know why the idle went down, but i do know that the p72 ecu runs leaner. Thats probably why you liked it, of course you could just get a fields or vafc and tune your old ecu and get the same results.

 

it has to do with a fast idle valve or somthing thereof that has to do with a vacuum sensor. The P13 ECU looks for that- the P72 doesn't.

 

hmph; i think thats pretty close. I was throwing a code 14 (idle air control) with my first ecu [a jdm ks-rom re-chip] but tried a stock jdm p13 to see if that would fix the problem ( it didnt) then the stock ecu threw a code 7 (TPS) and i've tried both a p28 and now two different p72's, which dont blow any codes.

Fast idle valve doesnt have any sensors. COmpletely mechanically controlled.

H22A/F22A does have an EGR which the other ECUs dont control.
I dont know if that would have anything to do with it though.

 

Hey sloaccord I would be interested in one of the spare p72's or p28's if you still have them. Get back to me. Would be willing to trade for my p13 that is giving no problems at the moment. Looking into the Hondata setup instead of getting a Controller.

 

...yeah that's what I meant EGR, and yes it does through a check engine light. I forgot which sensor it was...thanks.

nope. i have the stock jdm p13, and the rechipped jdm p13.
