Default What are the differences between OBDIIa and OBDIIb?

Why i need to know is because I am wondering if a conversion harness made for a 96 -> OBDI will work with a '99 wiring harness. Will I need to change the wires around? Where would I find this info?

Thanks!

on civics,

obdIIa is 96-98
obdIIb is 99-00

I think you'll need to switch the wires around, because they are not interchangable.
