The flywheel bolts were not torqued properly or the flywheel was not seated against the crank properly when they were torqued. The crank and the flywheel were rubbing against each other.

This is the flywheel that came from the acura dealer ship when it was first bought...The tranny never came off until yesterday when I was changing it out with new a clutch/flywheel combo...Which is why that is not possible or maybe the car was not torque to spec when it came out of the factory?

i have seen a clutch get so hot it almost welded itself to the crank. this was on a stock H22. looks like that may have happened. was the clutch really smoked.

Looks like the flywheel and crank friction welded themselves together!! Possibly bolts that started loosening or clutch slipping at high rpm = too much heat.
