What is "PS"?

In my options2 magazines they always refer to Horsepower with "PS" What does PS stand for? Is it the same as HP?

Is it German, beacuse Pferdestaerke is "horsepower" in German.

maybe cuz p.s. is metric and we still do everything in standard, thats my guess.

when u read it on h-tech as in "no ps"... it stand for power steering

P.S. is a mesurement of power in Japan. 1 HP = 0.97 PS. so 200 PS = 206 HP

Nah, PS isn't metric. The SI unit for power is the watt.
