Weird timing bellt noises
I just installed some cam gears, and adjusted the timing belt. It makes noises now. When i rev the car up, it its makes a whining noise, like a superchager or something. It is coming from the timing belt area. I am thinking the belt may be too tight. When teh car idles, you can hear sort of a grind every now and then by the timing belt area. Should I just loosen the tension a bit? I dont know what to try. Anyone ever experience this?
Thanks

The same thing happened when I had an AEM cam gear and new timing belt installed on my old Civic with a D16z6... it had to do with the timing belt not sitting in the cam gear grooves perfectly. It went away after a couple thousand miles of driving, once the teeth seated perfectly in the grooves. Don't sweat it.
be SURE you dont loosen the tension too much, you dont want to skip a tooth on a cam gear.
the flex is supposed to be ~1/2 inch in the timing belt.

yeah, that happened to me as well when i changed my gear and belt but it only happened when the car wasn't warmed up. it may not even be the timing belt, check the alternator and ac compressor belts too.
