i just droped a b18b into my 96 ek. I started it up and the motor sounds normal but idles like...crap. when the motor warms up, it gets a little better but remains crapy. I have been trying to find the source of the vacuum leak(or at least thats what I think it is) but nothing seems to help. I removed my evap canister. would that maybe be the problem. please help.

 

does it idle up and down constant? take off your intake and look inside the tb, try covering one of those holes. if the irratic idle stops then take off your fitv, take it apart, and clean it out with some carb cleaner, then tighten it down with a flathead. here i found a link for u hah.. http://www.team-integra.net/fo...Topic

 

my motor is out of a 2000 model integra. The link says that 96+ dont have a fitv. Im gonna check anyway tho, but could it possibly be anything else?

 

can you describe the irratic idle a little better? it could be your IACV, like an air bubble in your coolant lines

 

the best way i can describe it is at idle the motor studders at low rpm... and only gets louder and ruffer when i give it gas. the motor runs a little better when its hot but not really enough to notice.
