Default weight reduction question

has anyone removed the rear floor from their ek hatch on here? im talking about under the rear seats all the way to the back of the spare tire well. ive heard about it being done but havent seen it in person. i have my gas tank out already and im planning on torching the floor out this weekend and replacing it with sheet metal. my question is, does anyone have any pics of this process? i just want to see how much i can cut out, and also how much weight am i going to eliminate?

In answer too your question I do not have a pic BUT if you clean up all under the car you will see a bunch of spot welds that can be drilled out then you can re-sheet metal the whole floor

Also you might want to look into the trunk basin were the spare tire and all of that crap goes that can also be cut out and then re-sheet metal up!

Also do not worried about structural integrity simply because your cutting/drilling removing around the frame of the car so you will be in good shape

Good luck and would be nice if you could post up come pics when you’re done to educate people like the above noob!

i'm sorry but having 327 posts and 99% rating makes you not a noob? i'm still a noob and if i recall i'm going on about 100 posts and i've still got a high rating. having an older profile that shows that you've been here a while doesn't mean you're not a noob, because you could easily be a noob with nothing better to do than tell people that they're dumb because you are one...

What the hell are you talking about? Ratings don't mean anything other than a mod took away a point.

for people with no brains.

Just scraping the sound deadener off of the floor is a better mod than removing the floor and adding new metal. Honda floors are light.
