Default Which way does the coolant flow in a Honda?

OK this may be a really easy question but which way does it flow? The reason I ask is because I want to install an autometer temp gauge and I do not know which hose to tap. Most cars are after the thermostat but in hondas it appears to be backwards. Anyone know the answer?

Coolant flows towards the radiator in the upper hose, returns thru the lower hose. That's the same for all the cars I've known. Yes, the thermostat is in the lower hose, that's a little wierd, but my '82 & '86 VW's did that, too.

You might want to put the temperature sender in the head, where the factory gauge sender is. Then you'll see the coolant temperature as it circulates, even before the thermostat opens.
