Wavetrac LSD!!!
I have the Quaife LSD for my GSR tranny haven't installed it yet. I found out about the Wavetrac LSD a few days ago. I dont know how new this LSD is but supposeably it comes from the same distributor as the Quaife does.
Can anyone tell me more about this LSD?
Anyone have one and what do you think?

autotech designed and manufactured the wavetrac differential. if memory serves me right, autotech was the north american distributor for quaife. I inquired about it a while back and i would definitly check out http://www.autotechdriveline.com. The diff looks quiet impressive.

Thanks for the reply, I checked out the site looks great in words and pictures, just wanted to see if I could get user feedback as well. Manufactors always blow up their products. I could believe Autotech a little more then the avarage company because they have had a first hand look at the Quaife LSD if this is just a copy persay of that.

Thanks for the reply... If you don't mind if the user gives you feed back to pass it on here as well. Thanks again

I will be running mine very soon in a full road race application...I will offer feedback and give my first impressions once I get this car done! Almost there!
So far I have been very impressed with the fitment...I did the test fitting with Autotech on the B and K series when they first came out. Having nothing but good things to say!

Re: Wavetrac LSD!!! (WhiteGsrBeater)
It seems like they are making a preloaded Torsen design with friction plates and a preload spring. Unlike the ITR and Quaife units, these may suffer wear effects due to the tunable friction plates, which may require a periodic rebuild.
I'd be interested to see how they do with zero traction on one wheel, which is the Achilles heel of normal helical LSDs.

well, after much consideration and a chat with the company i bought it from i just bought a wavetrac lsd. appearantly it was not really quaife that had such a kickass warantee it was autotech that had the warantee all along. that and the fact that i cant find a quaife for cheaper than $1000 from anyone i trust led me to purchase this unit. not sure when i will be putting it to use since money is tight these days but i will take pics of it when i et it and at least be able to tell you what i think of it appearance wise. hope to get some track time with it this year some time...just need money and time!

Re: (vti444)
We installed one of these in our 750hp drag civic with Liberty gear set. we've put down a bunch of 10.0 passes(over 15passes) and everything is going well.
If it works for that much power and stress, it will be able to handle road use with no problem.

if you go to autotech's site they break it down for you. it has replacable friction plates but is built very similar to a quaife as far as the gears are concerned. check out their website @ autotechdriveline.com

is it more towards quaife unit, clutch pack types or in between ?</TD></TR></TABLE>
It is a preloaded Torsen unit from what I could tell. The ITR and Quaife units are also Torsen designs, but are not preloaded. They have issues when one wheel has zero traction as (torque bias ratio)*0 still equals 0.
