Default water pump & oil pump-should it be changed?

doing an engine re-build,is the water pump and oil pump change necassary,or would the old ones suffice?they have about 110k miles on them and worked fine.thanks

better safe than sorry. they aren't too expensive, and it's sooo much easier to replace them when the motor is out of the car. i would definitely change them out for new dealer bought pumps.

I would change the water pump because the seals can go in them and they can leak. You should usually change it when you do a timing belt. The oil pump can be checked to see if it is within tolerance. Get out your Helms manual and check it. I didn't get a new oil pump when I rebuilt my B18A at 175k and it had great oil pressure when I sold it at 251k miles.
