Default VTM wire on VAFC

Hey I have a JDM 2nd gen B16a with the P30 ECU. Do I need to hook up the blue VTM wire from the VAFC. I don't have it hooked up and everything seems fine. What does the VTM wire read and what does it stand for?
Thanks

VTM = Vtec pressure switch

the V-AFC doesn't need to read the pressure switch since the Apexi unit sends the signal to the Solenoid.

Default vafc vtm wiring

Just run the blue VTM wire off the VAFC harness to pin D6 on the ECU... You'll need to cut the existing line running from the VTEC pressure sensor to the ECU and tap the VAFC's blue VTM wire to the cut side that runs towards the ECU... Hope this helps... Peace

What does it hurt if I don't hook up the VTM. Email me if you don't mind on how to correctly hook it up. Ballzgrande@hotmail.com Thanks

If you don't wire it up you won't be able to activate your VTEC x-over.. That's how the VTEC controller does it, it tells the ECU that the press is up at a certain RPM and the VAFC also controls the output signal... When installing it it's best to solder all your connections.... check out this, it should help... http://www.apexi-usa.com/productdocu...onics_vafc.pdf Page 11 shows a basic wiring diagram and page 16 shows the actual pin (D6) where the wire is that you need to tap your VAFC VTM signal from... It's the top right diagram (H-2a) on page 16... That's pretty much all there is too it... If you need more help lemme know... Peace

Its wierd that you have to hook it up on some ecus and some you dont. go to the apex website and get the info.

Hmm. I haven't hooked the VTM up yet, but I set my vtec x-over at 5000 and it kicks on at 5000. This is confusing.

All the VTM connection does is send a signal to the ECU, to say that the Vtec has activated correctly and the oil pressure is flowing in the head. If you are using a JDM ECU, the connection is totally unnecessary, as the JDM ECU does not look for the VTM (Vtec pressure switch).
