Default Vtech installation

hello

i am looking at putting one of the K20A blocks (from the S200) into a car of mine and was wondering if people have ever transplanted a Vtech into another car, and how easy/difficult it would be. i was thinking of gettin the whole unit from a firm in London whi import Japanees engines, and using everything from it, gearbox, ecu, loom etc etc. Has anyone ever done anything like this before and if so what sort of difficulties you come accross in the installation. Hope some can help

Cheers

Mark.

Why not get an Eg and throw a B series motor in?

That would probably cost a fortune not to mention an S2000 is rear wheel drive

If you were talking about the S2000 then the motor is an F20C NOT a K20A... The heads themselves are very similar however the F20C has the bonus of roller rockers... It's possible, but I wouldn't try this with a street car... Build a 2.0L boosted B18C (~20lbs.) That would smoke an F20C powered Civic any day... VTEC mang!!!

Research my friend, lots of research. Your terminolgy is all off and you will need a lot of time to get all your terms and knowledge up to par to do ANY swap. Maybe some guys here can post a few links to web pages that have detailed information on what motors "swap" into what cars etc.

Most places charge a little more to install if the Vtech is a non-cordless model. But i would suggest the cordless because there is no wiring mess.

ok, well, i'v got a kit car, a se7en type, and i was thinking about taking the engine out of an S200, or similar, and fittin the whole unit into my car. My car is rear wheel drive, and i would need the final drive to be turning clockwise. so that i can use it with my rear axle. i was under the impression the S2000 engine turns clockwise. if this is not the case, which engines do turn clockwise? i was thinking of using the S2k as it is already a rear wheel drive car and i could just take the whole unit and do a straight swap (almost) with my old engine. Can anyone give any URL's of places that have detailed specs of cars and engines, more specifically engines and their gearbox's, which i could use and put in my car.

Thanks for any help guys
