My vtec will come on when I 1st drive the car. After this it will not function unless I turn the car off and start it again. When it does this I get a Code 22, Vtec pressure. Then after restarting the code will go away then come back. I've done the basic checks like checking the oil level.

Any suggestion of what this may be or what is causing this? What can I do to correct it?

 

Probably low oil, i know you said you checked it, but did you check it properly? What level was it at. Unless its a bad sensor? But ive never heard of a (vtec) oil pressure sensor going back

 

The oil is fine. The vtec is fine for about 5 min of drive time once the engine is warmed up. After I hit vtec one time if quits and I get a Code 22.

check and make sure the screen in the vtec solenoid is not clogged. next check and make sure your oil pump is working correctly...what weight oil are you using?
