there is two gaskets on the whole vtec solenoid. there is one between the vtec solenoid and the head (where it bolts onto). and there is also one where the actual solenoid (the top section) bolts to the bottom section of the vtec solenoid.

where is your leak coming from?

number 14 and number 12 are the two gaskets

I know that the solenoid are basicly the same but, I think that the gaskets vary.

I don't know if this is true or not cuz I'm looking into getting a vtec solenoid assy cuz on my gsr I've noticed it's leaking & the 3 bolts holding the solenoid to the housing assy seem to be stripped & just spin, hence the leak. Looking at pictures online, the B & D series look different. On the B-series, the green sensor is on the side & on the D-series, it's in front. Maybe they are compatible but it looks like their not the same? Anyone to comment on this? Are they interchangable regardless?

well i know that an accord vtec solenoid will work on a b16a2 head. the accord one is like the d-series one where the sensor comes out sideways, but they are all the same and use the same plug. sorry for not being totally clear.

Looks like a hyrbrid between a obd-2 civic harness & a obd-1 gsr harness. I bought the car already swapped so i'm not sure. I feel kinda dumb saying that cuz I've done many motor swaps prior to buying it but whatever it's a long story..

@redboost10 the vtec solenoid gasket does vary between gen1- gen2 jdm (b16a) if you intertwine them one will leak and the other just wont fit. So the next time you speak on something please know what you are talking about before you do so thanks for nothing

Gaskets out of Vtec Del Sols and 99-00 Si's will fit your B16. I have the same motor and that what I used.

And yes solenoids do vary.....some might be the same for all I know but a D-series won't fit a B-series. lol Trust me I know

I just checked as of yesterday at a honda dealership. There are 3 gaskets to replace and the total was $20 and change for all 3 of them.

Hope this helps. I didn't buy them as I needed the replace the soleniod - which I'm gonna need some help to do. I don't know where to look, can't find a youtube on it, or a schematic.
