That there is your vtec pressure sensor that your missing.. Depending on how your doing you mini-me says if you need it or not..

Meaning if your using a oem honda ecu then you will need it.. If your using a vafc or rpm switch to turn it on then you dont need it.. Either way you will have to plug the hole there with something, either the pressure sensor or a cap..

Im not really sure what the difference is.. If you do use the one on the left just get a screw cap from home depot if you can find a size to fit it..

that VT solenoid on the right is trippin me out
Motors that don't have a VTPS, normally JDM OBD2 vtec engines, usually have a filled spot where the VTPS would be....but that one doesn't.

That might even be a solenoid from an auto transmission, not quite a VT solenoid, but does the same functions as a VT solenoid.....I could be wrong though.

but besides that, you can still bypass the VTPS, by splicing the power wire of the VTPS into the single wire for the VT solenoid, then take the ground wire of the VTPS and ground to the body of the VT solenoid somewhere....and presto...VTEC will work without throwing a code for the VTPS.

hey katman, arent you from jdmhondaparts? i was emailing you about my mini me months ago. inquiring about the jumpers.

anyways, im not really sure about this-->but besides that, you can still bypass the VTPS, by splicing the power wire of the VTPS into the single wire for the VT solenoid, then take the ground wire of the VTPS and ground to the body of the VT solenoid somewhere....and presto...VTEC will work without throwing a code for the VTPS.

i dont have the vtec pressure switch (the green thing). and i only see one wire. so which wire is which? and what really is the vt solenoid? is it the cylinder on the top or is it the whole thing?

oh yeah, the vt solenoid on the right has the hole for the VTPS on the right side of it (not seen on the pic). ill try to get some more detailed pix.

how many wires are there suppose to be anyways? 3? 2 from the VTPS and one from the VT solenoid?

how much would you guys pay for a VTPS?

ok.. i think you have your self lost...I think* you have a sohc vtec solonoid and a dohc vtec solonoid. Your going to want to use the one that bolts to your head.. not matter what it looks like..... NOW, are you using a stock ecu or a vafc or something. If you are.. you dont need the green thing / VTPS*.

start with bolting the solonoid to the head.. then the one wire.. is going to run to what ever is controlling vtec....

The green thing / VTPS* will depend on what your using to turning vtec on with or what ecu you are using .

Did that help ?

Thats right.. Since your just using a rpm switch you dont need the plug.. Take the vtec noid down to home depot and find a plug to plug that hole..

yup, that's me. Did I reply back to you? lol

the VTEC solenoid (assembly) is what you posted pictures of. The VT solenoid itself is the big round cylinder shaped thingamabob, with a single wire/plug coming out of it. If your VT solenoid had a VTPS (green) plug coming out of it, that would be the VTPS and if you looked inside of it you'd see 2 pins in it which the VTPS female plug (engine wire harness side) makes contact with.

oh yeah, the vt solenoid on the right has the hole for the VTPS on the right side of it (not seen on the pic). ill try to get some more detailed pix.

ah ok..that makes sense then. That means that other VT solenoid is a SOHC VTEC VT solenoid.

yer using a PM6 ecu eh? that blows. You should be using a VTEC ecu which has the proper programming (dual fuel & timing maps), whereas your PM6 ecu has single fuel & timing maps. But, for the time being, you dont have to wire in the VTPS because the PM6 ecu doesn't even look for a VTPS or any VTEC components for that matter..
