Ok I bought some rockers for my h22. They were already machined for my crower valvetrain. I brought everything to my local machine shop and had it all assembled. I got it back and realized the secondary rockers dont have that little pin that sticks out the side. The primary and secondary rocker arms had it on my other rocker arms. I was wondering if this would affect anything. I am able to move both the primary and vtec lobe up while the secondary stays down, its able to seperate from the other two bc that pin seems to be machined off.

Just incase im not talking about the pistons in the rocker arms. Im talking about that little pin thing that sticks out the side and makes it so you cant sepertae them from the vtec rocker.

Re: Vtec rocker arm question. (matix)
on the b16, im only assuming its the same, the pin are inside and pushed out to lock the rockers to the hi cam lobe during vtec, if it was grinded down, your engine will be on lo cam profile even if the pin is pushed out. [doesnt lock anything bec its shortened.]
i strongly suggest to have it checked by a qualified mechanic.

Im not talking about the actuall dowel things inside. Im talking about the thing that sticks out the side of the rocker arms to somewhat keep them together.
