Icon6 Vtec Problems. (Bog, Lack of Power, Superloud)

ok so i have a 97 ls with a 98 Type R swap. the car does something really funny. the low end power of the car is VERY good but when it hits Vtec it hits reallly loud .. louder than normal hondas but the car seems to loser power. ive read other post about this but i never really got an answer. some ppl say its back pressure from a clogged cat? i have a cat and a stock ls muffler. and other people says it can be something with air flow?? my TPS is kinda messed up. it doesnt hook in all the way. it kind of just slides out. compression was good. my fuel pressure was low at like 44 but it was boosted to 56. so what do you think it can be? it also tends to bog sometimes when it hits vtec.. its really annoying because i dont know what it is

Be sure that the PCM is stock. The 44psi pressure is the correct fuel pressure. What is the reason to go higher?Be more specific on the trouble. When is it happening? On the VTEC or not?How is the engine vacuum?

It will be great if you could connect a vacuum guage and rev the motor to the VTEC engagement point. At the same time you will eliminate the blocked cat.conv..

you turned the fuel pressure up to 56psi?

should be 42psi w/ vacuum disconnected
