I searched for vtec trouble and got a lot of useful info, but vtec is still not working. I have a 91 crx hf with a ls/vtec, pr3 pistons, b16a head, type r intake cam, type r intake mani, and gsr tb. I have about 1,000 miles on this engine. No engine light, all wiring is good, oil pressure good, bench tested solenoid, solenoid piston moves ok. At proper rpm you can hear a change in engine sound (like its working)but there is no increase in power. Still have stock fuel pump(199K), using Ls fpr. Not getting enough gas? Do any other stock fuel pumps swap into a crx, b-series maybe?

 

what ECU are you running?

and fuel delivery dosent really have anything to do with the mechanical operation of vtec.

yes you prolly running lean.i would swap out your stock old fuel pump for a b-series vtec one
