VTEC not making power on dynograph!!!!
anyone know why??????????????????????????????????????????????
any one have a problem with their Hondata2b. I bought the Hondata for
my integra [ full skunk 2 head, skunk 2 manifold, skunk2 stage2 cams, JE
pistons, eagle rods, bored .30 over, with 310 injectors] i had it tuned and
it did only 158 hp it should be more near 190-200. What is happening is
the VTEC is opening up and makeing a whole lot of noise but on the dyno
it falls on its face making no power,so my friend told me it could be the
Hondata. Any one with a hondata and a similar setup please tell me if you
have a problem like that.
fully built GSR=158 hp wow

If your exhaust is up to snuff (JDM 4-1 with 2 1/2" collector, high flow cat, and a good cat-back), and your engine is put together correctly, it is just a matter of tuning. The cam gears need to be tuned (every setup is different, what works for one setup with a particular cam, might not be the best setting for another setup with the same cam), the ignition timing needs to be dialed in, and fuel pressure adjusted. You are running the Hondata 2B ? So are you running a Turbo or Supercharger ? The "b" stands for boost. If you are running boost, the Skunk Stage 2's are not the best choice of camshafts for your application.
Tuning the air/fuel and timing maps with the Hondata is kind of tricky; you need someone with a lot experience to extract the most horsepower/torque from your setup. 158 hp is low for a properly tuned motor with the mods you listed. A GSR motor with 84mm 12:1 JE pistons and Skunk2 Stage 2's laid down 199.4/140.6, so it can be done.

you running the wrong ecu ... if you decide to use a reprogrammed ecu to more match your mods I can do that for you as I'm in nj. sounds like its just running lean or you have your timing wrong. PM me if you need help, did many of these b4.

actually its not a 2b its just a 2 finger sliped, i had it tuned at DRT RACING in queens if your familiar with DRT and know ralph and he even has never seen this before i dont know i believe it could be the hondata maybe its messed up inside??
heh nice, your making the same power as a stock 89 B16A engine.
Where is your vtec kicking on at? with Skunk2 stage2 cams it's best if vtec kicks on at 6000rpm+.
I think the ecu is where the problem lies. You should try a reprogrammed P28 ecu.
were your camsprockets pretuned before you got on the dyno? if so, you should set them to '0' and tune from scratch.
..just a few suggestions, but I personally think its your ecu causing loss of power.

I bet it has nothing to do with the Hondata whatsoever and would bet its mechanical.
Is the light ON, on the Hondata? If it is, its working. So that means its not the ECU.
Maybe VTEC is not working because you have too little oil pressure, or perhaps you have a clogged pipe.
With a Hondata, its really easy. Just put in a STOCK HONDA GSR basemap, and do a baseline. Or use a P28 base map.
If it doesn't make decent power, then the motor has a problem. Every motor will at least make a decent pass with a stock ECU and a decent fuel pressure.
Compression test would help, tune it open header would help...run a wideband 02 would be good. YOU NEED an oil pressure guage.
Often over here, we will do a baseline, and its like 190 WHP, and there is a slight mechanical problem because the motor is bran new, we fix the problem, go back and the baseline goes from 190 to 235 WHP over the course of a few hours. When you find the problem, you will see your WHP you want hopefully.
Put a bone stock GSR brain in there, with the RC 310 injectors and say, 40 PSI fuel pressure and say 16 degrees timing, the motor is going to make decent power. If it does not, its a motor problem. Its that simple.
All these things can narrow down problems.
and CHEETAH? But he should buy a program from you that will make more power? Than the Hondata?
For real? LOL

good to see you actually helping ppl on the board now !!!
about time you add some value
If Raplhy looked at it then it must not be the ecu, prolly motor related, either way let me know if you want I can look at it for you since you're in dirty jersey.
hey jeff, I heard Erick tried the Kukta pistons when he did the 10.2 run
... that with Toda cams are killer aren;t they ?

you heard wrong, Erick uses only JE customs.
They are a special bore size, and design exclusively erick.
If you know so much about people I talk with all the time in person, feel free to educate everyone on everything you know about people that are 2000 miles away.
all your doing is spreading rumors.
