Default Is a VTEC head for a B20 safe???

Looking into getting a B20 block and puttin a vtec head on. I have heard that the pistons will hit the valves on the head. Would I be better to just get a b16 or b18 that already has VTEC? I like the torque of the b20 but I dont want to ruin the engine just so I can get some extra horses out of it. So anyone with experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

if you are going to do a b20 vtec goto crvtec.com for all of your problems. To run oem pistons on a b20 with vtec head you need to adjust the timing the have the adjustments on www.crvtec.com
