Default vtec bogging

with my stock p72 when vtec engages my motor starts to bog from about 5k-6k rpm. then i tried a chipped p72 and the same thing happens. my motor set up is a b18c1 with p30 pistons, skunk 2 stage 2 cams, cam gears, springs and retainers, headers, exhaust, and a jg i.m. with a bored t.b... i was wonder if it needs to get tuned and is better to get a vafc or hondata S200 to tune my car.

Yes! you will need to get it tuned. that setup is going to require a good amount of fuel in vtec. how close are you to a decent shop that can tune.
